With just a few days until we open our doors for the Worthing Art Trail, it’s a delight to feature a local artist who introduced me to a welcoming bunch of creatives who have since become friends. We are lucky to have a wide range of her work and lots of pretty cards to sell. Let’s meet her!
- Hello, what is your name and what do you make?
My name is Sam Pharoah and I’m an artist and photographer.
- Have you taken part in the Art Trail before, and are you excited about this year’s event?
I took part in Worthing Open Houses once, four years ago and I’m very excited about exhibiting again in Worthing, at this lovely location and with such a talented group of artists.
- What is your favourite medium to work in, and which is your favourite design?
I think my best photography reflects my ‘arty’ roots. My ‘Abstraction’ themed work can come across as textured and ‘painterly’, which I like. I also love the liberating process of creating fictional scenes with toy animals. I think my favourite image at the moment is a Budgie.
- Have you been working on anything new, and will it be making its way to the open house?
I have been developing my long-term toy animal theme in a new series called ‘Fable’. If all goes well, some of these will be making an appearance!
It must have gone well Sam, as they are looking magical on our living room wall right now!
Thank you for answering our questions! How can we follow you?
