Photos from Craftivism

The Brighton Etsy Team Craftivist event on Saturday was a such a great idea, with 7 pairs of makers taking it in turns to make their work live in the window of the Super+Super workshop space by Brighton’s seafront.  The day’s work, alongside other Etsy team donations created the components for a window display/charity fundraising exhibition.

When I arrived to take my turn, the work made so far was already in the window. It all looked amazing, so I began to feel a little terrified. Luckily for once in my life I was prepared, and despite my nerves it was an enjoyable experience! For the window session I chose to draw a pelican in black pen, with orange and blue watercolour to fit the theme.

I just wish I could have seen more of the makers in action!

Here are some photos snapped by Paulie from outside, and a couple of mine from inside the fishbowl.

The work is up throughout April – well worth a look! It is really very varied, from jewellery by Cat a Cake Creations and Kirstin Stride, to prints by Hello Dodo and Woah there Pickle, to gorgeous textiles by Maidolls, to name but a few. (Find all the craftivists here..)

You can buy raffle tickets (collecting for Carousel) for just £1 for the chance to win any of the works.

The venue is tucked behind the Queen’s Hotel at number 7 Kings Road, linking to East Street. Map here.
