Lobsters on a postcard please

Last weekend I enjoyed many sweet hours with just art materials for company. Bliss! With the kids out the house I sat merrily drawing, tracing, cutting and printing, and here are the results.

Firstly may I introduce Mr L, a blue lobster linocut, just the size of a postcard so he fits into those little A6 photo frames rather nicely.  Here are some photos of how he came into existence.

After the lobster I made a tulip image, drawn from some flowers a friend brought round.  With a mind on possible notebook covers and more postcard-sized prints I made this quite small also.  This time I cut into the lino the opposite way so the image is cut out and the background takes the colour.

After such a great working weekend, Mr L. is now on sale in my Etsy shop as well as down at Studiofreer on Worthing beach. The tulips have not completed their journey but they will undoubtedly make an appearance at Jessie Jumbles Marvellous Market next Sat 15th March!
