This summer I have quietly toiled away, concocting ideas and forging plans for the season ahead. Here are a few snippets of what is coming up.
One very exciting development is my new stockist, Studio 45 in Brighton’s Open Market. Anyone who has been there will know that the newly overhauled site off London Road houses small local businesses, in particular creative start-ups, delicious food stalls and cute little cafes. Studio 45 will be open by the end of September, so once we are in I’ll do a longer post on that.
This Saturday I am selling at Maker’s Boutique at the Unitarian Church on New Road, Brighton. The long-established market rightly has a great reputation for good art and crafty finds, and the line-up for this weekend does not disappoint. See the blog here for interviews with the sellers and more.
So what will I be selling? I will certainly be bringing my bright prints and cards, but also some lovely new things I’ve been working on. Namely my new range of notebooks, which I LOVE making! Alongside these I have made new gift tags, and working on wrapping paper and new tea towels… but not quite there yet!
Another exciting project has been the Brighton Artists Deck of Cards, where 54 artists each designed a playing card to make a deck. My design is for the 9 of Spades… a sneaky peek here, under a notebook and new gift tags. These will be on sale from October…And finally… Those who follow me on Instagram will have seen work in progress for ‘Lobster Gladioli’. It’s going to happen! Little peek at progress so far: One day this will be wallpaper/wrapping paper/book jackets/who knows? … So much lovely new work to get done!
